David Gestenter found this Company in London, England as it filed its first patent of copier in 1879. In 1981 the Company filed another patent for the Cyclostyle that is a stylus to be used with the Cyclographic copying device. This was a tremendous achievement and it captures the whole market because of its innovative style and performance. Later on, Gestetner expanded its operations and started producing duplicating machines, stencils, styli, and ink rollers that also proved beneficial for the company and all of the stated products earned a notable revenue for the company that helped it to sustain and expand its operations during the early and mid 20^th century.

After that Gestetner acquired other companies including Nashuatec, Rex Rotary, Hanimex, and Savin to form a larger setup with the name of NRG. Later on, the Ricoh Company of Japan acquired NRG and formed a group with the name of NRG group PLC. On 1^st April 2007, this group was renamed as Ricoh Europe to market the products of Ricoh Company in the specified territory.
